  • The Teddy Bear Grill, ca. 1950, Joe (guest) wrote 12 years ago:
Joe Johnson and my dad were photographers, friends, and "business associates" in the underground porn magazine production business (and other underground businesses) in Atlanta and much of Georgia from the 1930s to the 1960s. Teddy Bear Grill locations had small studios in the offices, plus dad's auto repair garages were equipped with hidden studios where they shot full length films. At one time, they operated a porn photo studio and full darkroom INSIDE the state capitol, right across the hall from the governor's office. Until 1961, when the AJC discovered a sixty girl secretarial pool with only ONE typewriter in a state office in East Point, Joe and dad used their "models" ("hookers") to compromise and control members of the legislature and the governor to obtain anything they wanted, including cash "grants for personal relief"...They literally owned Senator Richard B. Russell and Senator Herman Talmadge...
